Mongolia

Driving across the rigors of remote territory and along paths that have rarely seen any person pass by in the last year, makes you wonder why we are doing this. For Charity of course, Cancer Research UK and Save Infants (Mongolian children's charity) and Charity that has yet to be announced by the Adventurists (after September 2013)

We will face a multitude of countries, that will have farmland, mountains, wide open plains. From a scorching 35 Celsius in the daytime to -10 in the night. Rugged regions of mountains, glaciers and valleys that provide a summer home for nomadic herders. Read more from the Lonely Planet.

We will be travelling over a 1/3 of the circumference of the Earth, through and over some of the most inhospitable terrain the planet has to offer.

This is known as the Mongol Rally an annual event organised by the Adventurists, that has a start and finish but no specific route or checkpoints as teams are left to “an unsupported adventure and so by its very nature extremely risky” journey to Mongolia.

The Route

The route has not been decided but The Central Route or the The Southern Route looks a very good start, taking in many great places to see, from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Romania and Turkmenistan.

Visa's, The Team and the Car

We have started preparation for the trip Over a year in advance, to get VISA's sorted using The VISA Machine, get the rest of the team together (Tegshee, Steph and Matt) and get the car sorted. (Fiat Punto, registered in 2006)

We have many events sorted over the next year or so, these include Gigs, Plant Sales, various supermarket collections with collection boxes scattered around.

We have a number of new sponsors for the rally these include Sunwise (who are sponsoring us with use of glasswear), T shirt studio (who provide our kit) and Sterling Geo Engineering (who are writing a GPS app). So thanks to these. We will be putting logos on vehicle to show the world they are fantastic companies.
